FUNNEL CAKES 
1 1/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
Oil
Powdered sugar
Syrup

Combine dry ingredients; add egg and milk. Beat until smooth. Heat 1/4 inch oil to 375 degrees in a skillet. Cover bottom opening of a funnel with finger. Pour 1/4 cup batter into funnel. Hold funnel over center of skillet. Release batter in a slow circular motion in to hot oil. Fry 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.

Drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve hot with syrup or a glaze.
