HUSH PUPPIES 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Freshly ground pepper
1 c. chilled milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce, Tabasco
3/4 c. chopped green onions
2 tbsp. minced onion
1 garlic clove, minced
Vegetable or corn oil

Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl. Add next 3 ingredients and stir with fork until blended. Mix in both onions and garlic. Let stand 30 minutes.

Heat oil in deep fryer or heavy large saucepan to 350 degrees.

Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into oil (in batches, do not crowd) and fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove using slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
