HAM AND STRING BEANS 
3 lbs. ham butt or ham hocks
50 oz. can cut green beans and liquid
3 lbs. potatoes, peeled and cut into lg. bite size pieces
Vinegar (optional - served on the side)

Put ham in large pot and cover with water just to top of ham. Bring to a boil, then simmer about 2 1/2 hours until meat is tender. Save broth; remove ham from bone and cut into small pieces. Put potatoes, green beans with liquid and ham into pot with broth. Bring to a boil, cover and boil gently 20 to 30 minutes until potatoes are tender. Pour some vinegar over serving (if desired). Serves 6-8 people.
