1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. plain mashed potatoes (about 4)
1 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1 c. nut meats
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. nutmeg & cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar; stir in eggs. Combine milk and soda; add to butter mixture. Combine dry ingredients, beat in potatoes and vanilla. Add to butter mixture. Pour into a well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Serves 16.
