SWEET RICE WITH RAISINS AND
ALMONDS
 
2 c. water
1 c. uncooked long-grain white rice
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. blanched almond slivers, divided
4 tbsp. coarsely chopped raisins, divided
1 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. sugar

In small saucepan over high heat, bring water to a rolling boil; stir in rice and salt. Reduce heat to low; cook, covered, 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender and fluffy. Stir in 3 tablespoons almonds, 3 tablespoons raisins, butter, and sugar. Cover and let stand 3 minutes. Spoon into serving dish or platter and garnish with remaining almonds and raisins. Makes six 2/3 cup servings.
