2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
3/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c M & M's

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Stir in M & M's and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful on a greased cookie sheet, about 3 inches apart. Press 2 to 4 candies into top (optional). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
