PUMPKIN COOKIES 
Cream:

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. pumpkin
1 egg

Add:

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder, soda, cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, raisins or chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla

Drop by spoonful on greased cookies sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in 350 degree oven.

FROSTING :

3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar

Boil 2 minutes stirring constantly and then add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Ice cookies while warm. If icing gets hard toward end, heat it up a little.
