FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 lb. can fruit cocktail (drained)
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Pour into a greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed) over the dough and then 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts. Pat down lightly.

Bake at 350 degrees about 50 minutes.

Serves 6 to 9.

Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
