FRESH 'FRIDGE PICKLES' | |
3 c. sugar 2 c. cider vinegar 1/3 c. salt (not iodized) 1 tsp. celery seed 3 qts. sliced cucumbers (10-12) 2 or 3 sm. onions 1 green bell pepper 1 red bell pepper (optional) Bring sugar, cider vinegar, salt and celery seed to boil and let cool. Slice cucumbers, onions and pepper. When liquid is cool, pour over cucumber mixture. Marinate in refrigerator at least 24 hours. Put in covered jars and store in the refrigerator. Makes about 5 pints. Keeps well. |
