CARDAMOM COFFEE BREAD | |
1 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 4-5 c. flour 1/2 c. butter, melted 1/4 c. lukewarm water 3/4 c. scalded milk 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. ground cardamom Soften yeast with water and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Scald milk and cool. Add sugar and salt to milk. Beat eggs. Combine yeast, milk, and eggs. Add 1/2 flour, cardamom and melted butter. Beat until smooth. Gradually add remaining flour. Turn out and knead. Shape into ball and brush surface with butter. Let rise to double, 2 hours. Punch down. Make braid and let rise about 1/2 hour. Bake at 350 degrees, approximately 1/2 hour. |
