RICH CORN CAKE 
1 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
3 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk

Mix dry ingredients. Add the egg and shortening. Then add the milk and beat well. Pour in buttered cake pan or muffin tin. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.
