CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1/2 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
Chopped nuts and sugar
Almond or candied cherries

Mix cream cheese and butter well, add flour and flavoring. Beat well. Form into a roll, wrap in wax paper, and chill in refrigerator several hours or overnight. Slice very thin, sprinkle with chopped nuts, sugar or press a piece of almond or candied cherry in the center.

Bake in hot oven 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees. When sizzling stops, cookies are done. Yield: about 2 dozen.
