APPLE CRISP 
4 c. chopped or sliced apples
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/3 c. butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place apples in shallow baking dish, 6 x 10 inch. Sprinkle with mixture of water, cinnamon, and salt. Work together until crumbly sugar, flour, and butter. Spread crumb mixture over apples. Bake, uncovered, about 40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Serves 6.
