PUMPKIN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 c. mashed pumpkin
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. mace
2/3 c. apple juice
2 2/3 c. sugar
3 1/3 c. flour
1 c. applesauce
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beat after each addition. Stir in applesauce and pumpkin. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with apple juice. Stir in nuts and pour into two large loaf pans or 3 small ones. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour or until done.
