Cream:

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg

Add:

1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix in:

1/2 c. sour milk

Add:

1/2 c. cocoa

Mix in:

2 c. flour

Drop with teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
