6 1/2 c. water
3 1/4 c. white vinegar
2/3 c. pickling salt
1/2 - 1 bud garlic
1/2 tsp. alum
2 or more sprigs fresh dill

Wash cucumbers and put in a one gallon jar along with dill and garlic. Mix above ingredients together. Pour over cucumbers. Set in sun for a day or so. Chill and enjoy.
