CROCK DILLS 
6 to 10 cukes
2 tbsp. pickling spice
4 cloves garlic
4 qt. water
1/2 c. kosher salt
1 c. vinegar
1 tsp. alum
bunch of dill (fresh)

Place dill on bottom of crock. Place whole cukes next. Add pickling spice and whole garlic. Boil water; add salt, vinegar and alum. Cool. Pour over cukes. Place lid on top. Ready in 4 days.
