CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter (butter)
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. plain flour

Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder. Cream Crisco, butter, vanilla and sugar. Add 1 egg at a time alternately with flour and milk. Beat well after each addition. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour 30 minutes. (Tastes great without icing.)

ICING:

2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sweet milk
1/2 c. Crisco

Boil vigorously 2 minutes after mixture reaches boiling point. Stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Beat until creamy. If it is too thick, thin with cream.
