CABBAGE HOT DISH 
1 medium size head of cabbage
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium sized onion (with a little bit of butter cut in)
1 c. shredded cheese
1 10 1/2 oz. can of tomato soup (use undiluted)
salt and pepper

Shred a head of cabbage rather coarsely. Sauté the hamburger with onion. Heat it through but don't brown. Season with salt and pepper if desired. Butter a medium sized casserole dish and add half the cabbage then the hamburger mixture. Put cheese over hamburger then put the rest of the cabbage over the top. Pour the can of tomato soup over entire mixture. Cover and bake 55 minutes at 350°F or until done.
