FRENCH APPLE PIE 
Pastry lined 9" pie pan
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
6-7 c. sliced apples
1 1/2 tbsp. butter

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed

Combine sugar, cinnamon and apples and heap in unbaked pie crust. Dot with butter. Mix ingredients for crumb topping and sprinkle over the apples. Bake in 425 degree oven for 50-60 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
