FREEZER BREAD STICKS | |
3 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 pkgs. yeast 1 tbsp. butter 1 1/4 c. hot tap water 1 egg whites, beaten 1 tsp. toasted sesame seed Combine 1 cup flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Add butter and water. Add dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup flour. Beat at high speed 2 minutes. Stir in more flour to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a well-floured board. Divide into 16 pieces. Roll each into an 18-inch rope. Cut each rope into 3 (6-inch) ropes. Place on greased baking sheet, rolling to grease all sides. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze. When frozen, these can be transferred to a plastic bag and held until baking. When ready to bake, remove from freezer. Cover and let stand on greased cookie sheet for about 30 minutes. Let rise until double. Brush with combined egg whites and cold water. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. |
