SOUTHERN BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter flavored shortening
1 c. buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with pastry blender. Add buttermilk and mix well. Knead lightly on floured board. Roll 1/2 inch thick, cut with floured biscuit cutter and place on greased baking sheet. Bake 400 until golden brown.
