WALDORF SALAD 
2 c. diced, pared pears or 1 c. each of diced pears and unpared red apples
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. granulated sugar
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 c. thinly sliced celery
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Lettuce

Toss fruit with lemon juice, sugar, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise. Just before serving, add celery, walnuts, rest of mayonnaise. Toss. Serve on lettuce, sprinkle with French dressing.
