APPLE CRUMBLE 
1 c. brown sugar
5 oz. all-purpose white flour
4-6 c. cooking apples
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. grated lemon peel

Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 oz. flour in mixing bowl. Squeeze lemon juice over apples that have been peeled and sliced thin. Toss apples with sugar mixture. Put in oven-proof 9x5 inch baking dish.

Thoroughly mix butter, remaining flour and cinnamon. Add lemon rind and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until top is golden. Serve warm plain or with ice cream. Serves 6 to 8 people.
