GUMDROP BARS 
Delicate orange icing caps these chewy bars flecked with gumdrops and pecans.

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. finely chopped gumdrops of assorted colors, except black (6 oz.)
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Thoroughly stir together flour, finely chopped gumdrops, and chopped pecans; set aside.

4 eggs
1 tbsp. water
2 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

In medium bowl beat together eggs and water until foamy. Gradually add brown sugar, beating until mixture is light. Beat in cinnamon and salt. Stir gumdrop-flour mixture into brown sugar mixture. Spread in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees until cookies are done, 15 to 20 minutes.

3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. grated orange peel
2 tbsp. orange juice
Sifted powdered sugar
Sliced gumdrops

Meanwhile, in saucepan melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in grated orange peel and orange juice. Stir in enough sifted powdered sugar to make a thin icing, blending until mixture is smooth. Spread icing over warm cookies. Cool; cut into bars. If desired, garnish each bar with a few sliced gumdrops. Makes 3 dozen.
