AUNT CHRISTINE'S STRAWBERRY FIG
PRESERVES
 
3 c. mashed figs
3 c. sugar
6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jello; 2 sm. or 1 lg. box

Wash jars and scald, jars should be hot. Wash figs once. Nip tops off figs (little stems). Mash them up. Mix all ingredients together in a big pot. Cook on medium heat, don't scorch. Let it come to a good boil for 3 minutes, then pour in jars and seal. Don't let figs scorch, stir and watch until it has boiled 3 minutes. This makes 3 pints.
