DIVINITY CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white syrup
1/2 c. water
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. vanilla
Walnuts

Cook syrup, water and syrup until it spins a thread or makes a hard ball in cold water. Have egg whites ready and pour hot syrup over them very slowly and beat hard. As you pour, beat in flavoring. Beat until it is thick enough to drop in balls. If nuts, add after you beat with mixer and before you spoon out.
