NO EGG CAKE 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. soft shortening (Crisco)
3/4 to 1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift the dry ingredients together, then add shortening, milk, and vanilla. Mix together well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in 2 (8 inch) layers in loaf pan. Top with crumbs or may be iced. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

CRUNCH TOPPING:

1/3 c. sugar
Dash of salt
2 to 3 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, butter, salt, and vanilla together, then add flour, mixing until it looks crumbly. Sprinkle on top of cake.
