TEXAS STYLE CORNBREAD | |
1 1/2 c. corn meal 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 2 c. buttermilk or sour cream 2 eggs 2 tsp. oil Mix all ingredients well. Bake in hot oven 425 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. Important tip - heat the pan or skillet very hot with a little oil BEFORE adding the batter, then cook in hot oven immediately. |
