SNICKER CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 stick butter
1/3 c. milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Prepare cake mix as directed. Pour half of batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt caramels, butter and milk. Pour over cake and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Top with remaining batter. Bake 20 minutes at 250 degrees, then 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
