1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Crisco
4 eggs
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

Mix together both sugars and Crisco. Add eggs and beat well. Add buttermilk and vanilla and stir together. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and nutmeg. Roll dough out on floured board and cut with round cookie cutter. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
