FRUIT COCKTAIL TORTE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 (#2) can fruit cocktail (fruit and juice)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Mix brown sugar with chopped nuts; reserve until last.

Sift white sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, and soda together. Add well- beaten egg to fruit cocktail; fold in dry ingredients. Pour into 9 x 13 cake pan. Cover with brown sugar and nut mixture.

Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with whipped cream or topping.
