SMOTHERED STEAK 
6 or 8 1/4 lb. tenderized round steak
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/2 to 3/4 c. fine bread crumbs
Salt and pepper
1/2 c. mushroom soup (diluted with 1/4 cup milk)

Blend egg and milk together. Mix flour and bread crumbs. Then dip steak in milk and egg mixture. Then roll steak in flour and bread crumb mixture season with salt and pepper. Fry steaks in hot shortening until brown. Place in 8 x 8 inch square baking pan. Spread with mushroom soup mixture and cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes.
