CURRIED OKRA 
1 lb. fresh okra, tops removed
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 med. size onions, sliced
1 tsp. dried hot red chilis
1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
1/4 tsp. mild curry powder
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Rinse okra and slice into 1/2 inch pieces. In heavy skillet over medium heat, heat oil. add okra and saute 10 minutes, stirring to keep okra from sticking.
