MISSISSIPPI MUD 
An awesome chocolate cake!

6 sq. (1 oz. ea.) unsweetened chocolate
3 c. boiling water
3 c. sugar
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
3 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cook chocolate in water until melted. Add sugar and butter. Cool until lukewarm. Beat eggs slightly and add to chocolate. Mix dry ingredients and add liquid mixture to dry mixture. Beat until mixed. Add vanilla. If cake is to be removed from pan, line it with wax paper. Use 9x13-inch pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 300°F. Check for doneness at 1 hour.

Frosting:

1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. butter
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
a little milk, for consistency

Mix and spread after cake is cooled.
