TEEN-BEAN BAKE | |
1/2 lb. frankfurters 2 cans pork and beans 1/2 c. catsup 1/2 c. water 1 tbsp. prepared mustard 3/4 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2/3 c. cornmeal 1 slightly beaten egg 2/3 c. milk 1/4 c. melted shortening 1/3 c. chopped onion Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut frankfurters in 1/2 inch pieces. Combine frankfurters, beans, catsup, water and mustard; place in baking dish. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cornmeal. Add egg, milk, shortening and onion; stir just enough to combine. Spoon over beans. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. |
