ROMAN HOLIDAY BAKE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. Italian sausage, cut in 1/2" slices 1 c. chopped onion 2 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed 1 can Cheddar cheese soup 1 (10 3/4 oz.0 can tomato soup 1 c. water 4 c. cooked wide noodles 4 slices (4 oz.) Cheddar cheese, cut in half diagonally In skillet, brown beef and cook sausage and onion with oregano until done; stir to separate meat (use shortening if necessary). Pour off fat. Add soups and water. Chill overnight. In separate container, chill noodles overnight. Combine meat mixture and noodles; pour into 2 quart shallow baking dish (12 x 8 x 2 inches). Cover; place in cold oven. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes or until hot; stir. Top with cheese; bake until cheese melts. Yield: About 7 cups. |
