CREAM OF MUSHROOM PORK CHOPS
16 pork chops
3 cans of cream of mushroom soup
3 cans water
1 sm. onion
Meat tenderizer, garlic powder, pepper, steak sauce, barbecue sauce

Separate pork chops on counter, poke meat with fork (both sides), season with seasonings and poke again. Put on barbecue sauce and (or) steak sauce, brown both sides in skillet, set aside. Put 3 cans cream of mushroom soup in large pan with 3 cans of water, stir and let get warm. Put in pork chops and onion, if needed add more water so chops are covered.

Cover and let simmer on medium low heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove meat. Let juices boil and add 1 cup flour - water, mix until it thickens. Use as gravy and put over potatoes and meat. Feeds 10 to 14.

NOTE: To feed less people use less meat and 1 can less soup.

This was the very FIRST meal my sweet mother taught me to cook over 40 years ago. Please share with a new bride. Trust me, her husband will really appreciate it plus, its great and fool proof!!

You can soup up the sauce with one can's worth of sour cream, a little white wine and sprinkled Parmesan cheese and it will taste a thousand times better...

add some sliced onions onto the pork chops.

These additional steps don't make this recipe any more difficult. It takes an extra five min of preperation, and it's well worth it.

BTW, I've cooked this a million times and am having it for dinner tonight. It never gets boring.

Also, this dish is awesome with mashed potatoes. Making that's harder work due to pealing and chopping. But if you go the instant route the meal is easy again.

I make this recipe at least once a month at Thanksgiving and Christmas - a big hit with my family. I use milk instead of water. Always serve mashed potatoes and hot home made biscuits. The mushroom gravy is the best ever.

Trying it out...I only used 3 pork chops, 1 can of cream of mush, and half water half milk. I also skipped out on bbq or steak sauce, and added carrots and celery to my onions. =) I just know itll be great, thanks for the basics!! =)

This is such an easy way to make pork chops, and it tastes super good too. I just seasoned the pork with garlic salt and browned it in a pan. And then just put the cream of mushroom over it and let it simmer for about half an hour and it was good!
