APPLE DESSERT CASSEROLE 
5 c. tart apples, pared & sliced
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

Mix: 2 tbsp. sugar

In greased 2 quart round casserole, mix apples and brown sugar; set aside. Stir together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl blend milk, butter, egg and vanilla; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

Spoon over sugared apples, then sprinkle with topping. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes or until top springs back. Serve warm. Serves 6.
