SWEET POTATO BREAD 
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. mace
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. melted shortening or oil
6 pecan halves

Sift together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and mace. Blend together eggs, pecans, sweet potatoes, milk, shortening or oil, and pecan halves.

Add all at once to dry ingredients. Stir until blended. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Press pecans across top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven, approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack a few minutes before removing from pan.
