HAM LOAF OR HAM BALLS | |
2 lbs. ham loaf mixture OR 1 1/2 lb. ground ham, 1/2 lb. ground veal and 1/2 lb. ground pork Mix with meat: 1/3 c. grated onion 1/2 c. milk 3/4 c. bread crumbs 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. dry mustard 3/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. ground pepper 1/2 tsp. nutmeg TOPPING: 1 lb. crushed pineapple, drained 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. cider vinegar 1 tsp. dry mustard Bring to a boil while stirring. Balls: Shape meat mixture into small balls for appetizers or larger balls for a meal. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Top with topping and bake 15 minutes more. Loaf: Put topping in loaf pan. Put ham loaf in pan and bake at 350 degrees for at least 1 hour. |
