1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1 egg

Combine all ingredients, mix well. Dot with butter and sprinkle wit brown sugar. Bake at about 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
