SHEET CAKE WITH FRUIT TOPPING 
1/2 pkg. spice or yellow cake mix
1 (#2) can fruit, drained well (sliced peaches or crushed pineapples)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. ginger
2 tbsp. butter

Prepare 1/2 package cake mix according to directions on package. Pour batter into 8 1/2-inch greased and floured square cake pan and bake at 375 degrees 30 minutes.

When done, arrange fruit over top of cake. sprinkle with brown sugar and ginger. Dot with butter. Place in oven so that top of cake is 4-5 inches from broiler unit and broil until topping is bubbly. Cool on wire rack; cut in squares to serve.
