GREEN PEAS AND ONIONS 
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. salt
8 to 10 green onions
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1/2 c. milk or cream

Cook frozen peas according to package instructions, using 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons water. Cook just until tender (5 to 7 minutes).

Meanwhile cut onions in 1 inch lengths and cook slowly in 2 tablespoons butter for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring. Blend in the flour, sugar, salt and pepper; add milk slowly, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and thick. Add peas including any remaining cooking liquid. Serve at once.
