DOWN HOME MOUNTAIN PEACH COBBLER | |
8-10 fresh peaches or 2 cans of peaches with juices 1 - 1 1/2 tbsp. nutmeg 1/2-1 lb. butter 1 - 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 ready made roll out pie dough (Pillsbury) Add 1 cup water if using fresh peaches. Boil all ingredients together for about 15 to 30 minutes. Pour into pan and place pie dough on top. The pie dough will flake and some of the dough will combine with the peach mixture. Sprinkle top dough with butter, a touch of sugar and a touch of nutmeg. Bake at 325 degrees until dough top is golden brown. (Another family recipe from the south - Arkansas.) |
