SHOOFLY CAKE 
4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. boiling water
1 c. molasses
1 tbsp. baking soda

Combine flour and sugar, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping. Combine boiling water and molasses, add baking soda. Beat until mixture is foamy. Stir in crumb mixture. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until cake tests done. 15 servings.
