PETTICOAT TAILS | |
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter 1 cup confectioners' sugar 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract Work butter until soft, then add confectioners' sugar gradually; continue until mixture is creamy. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together; mix into creamed butter combination well. Add vanilla. Chill, then shape into rolls about 2-inches in diameter. Wrap in foil or plastic wrap. Chill again in refrigerator until firm enough to handle easily. Cut dough into thin slices. Place on cookie sheets and bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Note: May be frozen before or after baking.
