TOFFEE SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3-4 chocolate squares
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, sugar, and egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt until blended. Pat into a 10x13 inch greased pan, leaving 1 inch on sides. Bake 20-25 minutes until nicely browned. It will be soft. Remove from oven.

Immediately melt chocolate over the top, spreading evenly over surface. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut into small squares while it is still warm.
