2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut in 1" cubes
2 c. cubed potatoes
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. sliced onions
1/2 c. sliced celery
2 tsp. salt
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 cans water
1/2 tsp. pepper

Brown meat without flour in oil. Mix all ingredients except pepper together and put in a 3 to 4 quart baking dish with a tight fitting cover. Cook 2 to 3 hours at 325 degrees. Stir in pepper. Serves 6.
