STEAK WITH BROWN RICE | |
1 beef flank steak, about 1 1/4 lb. 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 3/4 c. water 1 tbsp. butter 1 med. tomato, chopped Salt; optional 1/4 c. prepared horseradish 1 (5 oz.) UNCLE BEN'S® brown and wild rice mushroom recipe 3/4 tsp. cracked black pepper corn or as desired Place steak in glass dish. Combine horseradish and mustard; pour over steal. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes or cover and refrigerate up to 12 hours, turning occasionally. Combine contents of rice and seasoning packets, water and butter in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand covered 5 minutes or until desired consistency. While rice simmers, place steak on rack of broiler pan. Discard marinade. Press pepper evenly into both side of steak. Broil 4-5 inches from heat about 4 minutes per side for medium are. Remove to carving board; season to taste with salt. Stir tomato into coked rice. Slice steak thin; serve along side rice. |
